Artist Statement

I’m Sam Panther, a Cherokee designer and consultant. I help people, businesses, nonprofits, and communities to thrive, while supporting wellness and sustainability goals. Being tech-savvy and a lifelong artist, graphic design was a natural career for me to share art beyond canvas.

In my many years of career design experience, I’ve used a variety of mediums to create art. While my most frequent medium has been 2D digital graphics, my favorite works tend to involve paint! Other mediums I use include wood, found or upcycled materials, charcoal, and watercolor.

I love studying and understanding the natural world and applying its principles and wisdom to my work and life. I am always eager to learn more and expand my knowledge and skills. Some of my hobbies include cooking, yoga, playing music, and gardening. When I’m not home with my partner and our cats, we’re likely out in our beautiful Western North Carolina nature or working on a Halloween haunted house project (this past year was Scooby Doo themed!). For this past year’s haunt, I got to 3D model and paint a custom Scooby head, which my partner motorized to become a functional animatronic. We made a total of 8 classic creatures, displayed in a free public event in Asheville, NC held on October 10-12, 2025 in Asheville, and then took them to our usual Atlanta haunted house location!

Thank you for viewing my art and learning more about me!
